Pinterest has published a new report on trending hobbies, drawing from search activity to outline key consumer interests gaining momentum this season. The findings offer a potential roadmap for marketing teams, helping brands sync their campaigns with the latest hands-on activities and aesthetic movements.

As Pinterest explains: “After years of always-on feeds, people aren’t just unplugging — they’re choosing hands-on pastimes that command attention, reduce stress and make free time feel more satisfying. In fact, 51% of Gen Z say ‘having a hobby contributes to their joy.’”

The platform also noted that eight in 10 app users said Pinterest encouraged them to try something new offline, underscoring the platform’s role in inspiring real-world experimentation.

Based on rising search activity, Pinterest pinpointed nine distinct hobby clusters:

Pinterest suggests this trend may gain further momentum with the September release of the film “Practical Magic 2,” which will be promoted in the app.
  • Cosmic Reset — Users are diving into astrology and crystal work, with searches for learn astrology (+733%), crystals and meanings (+606%), and tarot cards for beginners (+558%) all seeing significant upticks.
  • Home Café Engineering — More people are replicating café experiences at home, as shown by rising searches for banana syrup recipe for coffee (+916%), vintage coffee corner (+430%), and Biscoff latte recipe (+359%).
  • Backyard Botanist — This trend encourages outdoor engagement with nature, reflected in searches for dried and pressed flowers (+457%), bird drawing sketch (+232%), and nature meditation (+146%).
  • Weekend Equestrian — Stable-inspired style is gaining traction, with searches for rosette ribbon (+3,816%), barn jacket outfit women (+1,109%), dainty horse tattoo (+481%), and equestrian aesthetic outfit (+219%).
  • Secondhand Sidequest — Vintage items from the 1990s and early 2000s are resurging, with pleated skirts outfits (+427%), uniform shirts (+341%), and wool leg warmers (+62%) among the items regaining popularity.
