Pinterest launches two new AI advertising features for small and medium-sized businesses
Pinterest has added new customer acquisition capabilities to its AI advertising suite Performance+ and launched one-click shopping ads for Shopify merchants, aiming to attract more small and medium-sized business customers.

Pinterest announced two new AI-powered advertising options for small and medium-sized businesses, aiming to expand its revenue base by attracting more SMB customers.
In expanding its AI-driven Pinterest Performance+ suite, Pinterest added the Performance+ New Customer Acquisition feature, designed to help SMBs focus on acquiring new customers. Additionally, Pinterest launched "one-click" Performance+ shopping ads for Shopify merchants.
First, the Performance+ New Customer Acquisition (NCA) feature will give advertisers more control over how much they are willing to pay for new customer reach and provide improved targeting capabilities to more precisely reach target audiences.
Advertisers can upload or define existing customer lists to set targeting parameters. Businesses can then assign higher value to new customers through value rules, focusing promotional efforts on new buyers.
The idea is to let Pinterest's system automatically identify users with similar characteristics and interests, driving more business.
Pinterest said that in testing, Performance+ NCA improved new customer conversion rates by an average of 64%.
Meanwhile, Pinterest's one-click shopping promotion feature will make it easier for Shopify users to launch Pin ad campaigns.
As Pinterest explained: "Our new pre-built Pinterest Performance+ ad campaign templates are designed for this, and eligible merchants can use them through Pinterest's Ads Manager or directly within Pinterest's Shopify integration."
Eligible merchants can launch Pinterest Performance+ shopping ad campaigns directly from their Shopify integration, "with best practices enabled by default and one-click launch," Pinterest said.
Pinterest is working to expand its advertising business and seize key opportunities after its revenue fell short of expectations in the first quarter of this year. This effort will primarily focus on expanding into international markets, but Pinterest is also seeking to drive more growth through SMBs to maximize revenue and demonstrate opportunity.
These two new options are steps in that direction and could hold significant value for SMB marketers.
