Pinterest is hosting its fourth annual Manifestival showcase eventin Cannes this week, where it will present some of the key creative and interactive trends currently heating up on the platform. The showcase may help marketers better understand the app's relevance to their campaigns.

Pinterest Manifestival

Pinterest's Manifestival offers an interactive showcase of key trends, aesthetics, and ideas, highlighting how the app continues to drive real-world experiences based on cultural trends.

This has become a key differentiator for Pinterest as the platform seeks to distinguish itself from other social media apps through its brand positioning of "less linking, more reality."

As Pinterest explained: "Through personalized, unplugged experiences, Pinterest Manifestival lets guests step into a real-life Pinterest board, turning inspiration into things they can see, taste, wear, and make their own."

Pinterest's event will also include a tattoo studio, "offering trend-inspired tattoos that have become one of the most talked-about permanent souvenirs on the Croisette." The event will also feature a Pinterest dessert shop inspired by popular recipes, and a visual search studio created in partnership with Adobe, which, according to the company, invites guests to "visually discover their personal aesthetic using a handheld scanner." On-site designers will then use Adobe Express to turn their selections into custom-printed journals.

Pinterest has also launched a new beauty experience in partnership with Sephora.

According to Pinterest: "Participants will explore bold, personalized approaches to color and styling, from hair to clothing, translating this year's Pinterest palette colors into wearable self-expression. Think: gradient hair ends, bold brows, expressive hair templates, and bleached graffiti clothing, bringing trends from the screen into the real world."

So, there's quite a lot happening at the Pinterest booth, as the platform seeks to expand its cultural influence and position itself at the center of key trends driving inspiration and engagement.

Of course, this is only relevant to those attending the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. However, with so many influential creatives and decision-makers gathered here, it could be a great opportunity for Pinterest to raise its profile and win more ad business.

Pinterest has seen steady growth over the past year. The platform now has 631 million users, most of whom come to the app with a shopping mindset. The more Pinterest can associate its brand with the latest trends, the more likely it is to build on this momentum. Therefore, its focus on Cannes could be an important element in its broader efforts.
