Meta has rolled out more features for its video editing app Edits, including auto-generated bilingual subtitles, improved creative templates, and a range of new seasonal sound effects.

The main update this week is automatic bilingual subtitles, which will help creators expand into new markets. Bilingual subtitles will offer text in 15 languages, potentially greatly expanding the audience reach potential of content created within the app.

Instagram, which is directly linked to Edits, has been working to boost exposure for international content creators by showing more translated posts in the Explore feed. This update is another step in that direction.

Meta has also added template creation tools, including expanded support for overlays and the ability to lock clips.

Meta explained: "When you lock a clip, it stays in place and makes it easy for anyone reusing your template to follow along directly." This will provide more room for creative trends and shoots, and may also encourage more users to post their own video updates.

Edits' features continue to expand, with Meta adding new features and tools to the app every other week. These tools are worth keeping an eye on, as they may help maximize the effectiveness of your short-form video strategy.
